Paloma Lázaro Arteaga
Spanish singer and composer Paloma Lázaro Arteaga (Madrid 1996) started singing at the early age of 3 in a children’s choir. Later on she studied classical piano in the conservatory and classical singing with Aida Monasterio and American singer and actor Anthony Madigan.
After that she started to experiment with other styles like jazz, pop, or world music ,focusing on free improvisation and traditional music from all over the world.At the same time she did theater training and began to compose her own music.
She has a duo with her sister Alicia Lázaro Arteaga (pianist, singer and composer) where they play their original compositions and improvise creating sound landscapes blending their voices together like one.
She performs as a soloist accompanying herself on the piano or collaborating with other musicians like Johan Timmermans.
She has performed in Spain,Netherlands and places like Burkina Faso.
Currently she is studying Jazz singing at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg (Netherlands) where she is exploring the concept of blending all the arts together.
She has developed an unique sound blending her Spanish roots and her jazz and classical knowledge.
J.S.Bach ,Tigran Hamasyan, Silvio Rodriguez or bass player Avishai Cohen are some of her inspirations as a musician. As a singer she has been influenced by Mercedes Sosa,Lorena Mckennit, Simin Tander or Silvia Perez Cruz among others.
